Our Story

Industrial Training Institute (ITI) Haflong was established in 1986 with a clear vision: to empower the youth of Dima Hasao district and neighboring regions with technical skills that lead to employment and self-reliance. Recognizing the urgent need for skill development in the hill district of Assam, the Government of Assam, under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, initiated ITI Haflong to bring quality vocational education to the doorstep of local communities. From its humble beginnings, the institute has grown steadily, both in infrastructure and in the variety of trades offered. Over the years, ITI Haflong has become a symbol of opportunity—especially for students from remote and economically disadvantaged backgrounds. With a focus on practical training, discipline, and career readiness, the institute continues to fulfill its mission of producing skilled professionals who contribute meaningfully to society and the economy. Today, ITI Haflong stands not just as an institution, but as a gateway to a brighter future for countless young men and women.
